Aimless But True Ramblings

These are the aimless, but true ramblings in this person's "so-called life."

"Radio One, Inc. (www.radio-one.com) is the nation's seventh largest radio broadcasting company (based on 2003 net broadcast revenue) and the largest company that primarily targets African-American and urban listeners. Radio One owns and/or operates 69 radio stations located in 22 urban markets in the United States and reaches approximately 13 million listeners every week. Radio One also programs “XM 169 The POWER” on XM Satellite Radio and owns approximately 40% of TV One, LLC, an African-American targeted cable channel, which is a joint venture with Comcast Corporation.

Our strategy is to expand within our existing markets and into new markets that have a significant African-American presence. We believe radio broadcasting primarily targeting African-Americans has significant growth potential. We also believe that we have a competitive advantage in the African-American market and the radio industry in general, due to our primary focus on urban formats, our skill in programming and marketing these formats, and our turnaround expertise." - http://www.radio-one.com

Because of these racist bigots, Y100 has been taken off the air to allow yet another Rap and R&B station in this city of brotherly love. This is reverse racism. Cutting down our rock stations to one less just goes to show how much power over white people, black people are gaining in our city. It should be an equal amount of power, and it should correspond to an equal amount of radio stations per race. Now people who say that radio is not designated by race can kiss my fucking ass because you are just in denial. This is just proof of this. Go to http://www.y100rocks.com and sign the petition to save this station.

This is our Memphis. And by God, I will play the race card if I have to.

This blog is brought to you by Remy Zero's Fair.

Hey, are you lonely?
Has summer gone so slowly?
We found the ground
And that damage was done
It's cold as you fade into the sun
Where'd you go?
To me......

Betrayal. Betrayal of trust, betrayal of friendship, betrayal of love--it is all the same. Why is it that when it happens to you, it hits you hard, brings you down, and you are never the same? It is such a turning point in everyone's life when betrayal rears her ugly head....and everyone goes through it. I mean, animals betray each other in the wild, for food or sex, what is it in the human brain that makes betrayal fuck with your emotions?

When I was sure you'd follow through
My world was turned to blue so thin
When you'd hide your songs would die
So I'd hide yours with mine
And all my words were bound to fail....

I guess its for the fact alone that we have emotions. We can feel the pain of being betrayed, and we can empathize with those who go through it. In my opinion, it is the most prominent form of pathos that exists in this world.

So what if you catch me,
Where would we land?
In somebody's life
For taking his hands
Sing to me hope as she's
Thrown on the sand
All of our work
Is rated again

It should be "sing to us hope." We've all been thrown on the sand.

Ashley started a trend and decided to write in permanent marker on the inside of her wrist the letters, "LYB." I have done the same. It stands for "Love Your Body," and I am supposed to to write a testimonial on how much it works. Mostly, for me this works in not mentally abusing myself everytime I look in the mirror. Since I cannot afford the time or the money it requires to diet and exercise in this particular stage of my life, its a mental process. I also cleaned my room today and got rid of all of the dust that had accumulated in it this entire year.

Oh yeah, I am definitely "LYB-ing" it. How about you?
