Aimless But True Ramblings

These are the aimless, but true ramblings in this person's "so-called life."

I was going to post something entirely too sentimental for my taste today. So it got deleted.

Instead I am going to write about my gripe of the day: TA's who grade.

I really feel that it is an utter waste of time to take a class where the TA grades papers instead of the professor. The TA does not teach the class, nor pays attention to what we are reading so therefore, should not grade the papers. I don't have a problem with TA's grading multiple choice tests, but when it comes to papers, it is utterly unfair to the student when a TA grades. First off, it makes the student feel unimportant because the professor does not take the time to read their work. Second, in particular to my own situation, TA's grade differently, and, in my opinion, much harder than professors. Now I am not saying all TA's do this, but the ones that I have in my classes do. Besides that, in my English class, I have two TA's. Two TA's with very different grading styles as I noticed from the papers we were handed back today. By the luck of the draw, I got the one who gave out the harshest grades. Boy, am I lucky.

I'll step off my soap box now.
